The MTR Equipment carries the High Power Laser DolorClast® from EMS®, one of the best high-performance lasers on the market. Numerous doctors and physiotherapists use it to treat pain patients:
- For acute inflammation and joint or muscle pain.
- For superficial or deep MSK indications.
- To promote cellular metabolism: Laser treatment stimulates tissue repair processes and supports functional recovery.
- To stimulate local vascular functionality: muscles relax, and inflammation, edema, and painful symptoms decrease.
The DolorClast® High Power Laser by EMS®
The DolorClast® high-power laser in the MTR – Health & Spa AG product line is a medical device that delivers impressive results. It was developed by EMS® (Electro Medical Systems, Nyon) using the latest technologies and is particularly effective against musculoskeletal pain. Its strong analgesic effect sets in after just 5 minutes of treatment. Even acute inflammation begins to subside after the very first session. The high-power laser acts both on the surface and deep within the tissue. Because of this deep penetration, it is ideal for treating patients with a high BMI.

The DolorClast® High-Power Laser triggers two main effects in the target area:
- relieves pain
- reduces inflammation
The high-intensity laser (HIL), with its optimal wavelength of 905 nm, is responsible for the treatment’s high efficacy. This wavelength is ideal for relieving pain and reducing inflammation. It is 10 times more powerful than a conventional low-level laser (LLLT). The short pulse duration ensures safe treatment and prevents tissue overheating.
The DolorClast® High Power Laser—a high-quality product bearing the «Made in Germany» label—is based on the latest technologies and scientific findings. It is extremely easy to use and exceptionally safe. The stored protocols and automatic treatment mode increase operational efficiency in any dental practice. Its compact, sturdy, and lightweight design allows for easy transport and mobile use.
Benefits of laser therapy:
- works without opioids
- reduces the use of sedatives and pain relievers and the associated side effects
- Works immediately—even after the first treatment

How does the DolorClast® High Power Laser work?
Laser therapy using the High-power laser The DolorClast® High Power Laser from EMS® is a non-invasive, effective, and safe solution for patients suffering from acute pain or who have a low pain tolerance threshold. Pain also leads to discomfort and limitations in daily life and has a negative impact on mental well-being and quality of life. Many doctors still frequently prescribe opioids or standard pain relievers for pain relief, even though these can be associated with numerous side effects and drug dependence. The DolorClast® High Power Laser can alleviate pain and heal at the speed of light. During laser treatment, the focused, high-energy light beams are directed precisely at a specific area of the body to take effect. The high-power laser enables optimal therapy to relieve various types of muscle and joint pain.

The DolorClast® High Power Laser
Laser treatment inhibits acute inflammation and provides immediate relief from joint and muscle pain. In addition, treatment with the high-power laser stimulates local vascular function. As a result, the laser promotes muscle relaxation and reduces inflammation, edema, and other painful symptoms. But laser treatment can do even more: It promotes cellular metabolism, thereby stimulating the tissue repair process and functional recovery. In doing so, the High-Power Laser DolorClast® works both on the surface and deep within the tissue. The laser’s pain-relieving effect begins just five minutes after the treatment ends and lasts up to 72 hours. The anti-inflammatory effect reduces acute inflammation. As a result, the edema subsides quickly and the healing process of the damaged tissue proceeds more rapidly.
What makes the DolorClast® high-power laser so unique?
Clinical research has shown that the therapeutic effect of laser light on inflammation and pain relief—which are typical of the acute phase of musculoskeletal disorders—is greatest at a wavelength of 905 nm.
The DolorClast® High-Power Laser It has many advantages over other high-power lasers or treatments. Its wavelength of 905 nm is ideal for immediate pain relief and inflammation reduction. The pulsed laser beams deliver a peak power of 300 watts: the higher the peak power, the deeper the laser light can penetrate the tissue. This power is ten times higher than that of standard low-level lasers, allowing penetration into deeper layers of tissue. The DolorClast® high-power laser operates with a short pulse duration of 100 ns (nanoseconds). This short pulse duration of 100 ns protects the tissue from burns and overheating. Prolonged exposure of the tissue to the laser beams—that is, a long pulse duration—can cause thermal problems (hot spots and burns).
Advantages of the DolorClast® High Power Laser from EMS:
- perfect wavelength of 905 nm
- 300 watts peak power
- Maximum safety thanks to a short pulse duration of 100 ns
Why combine high-power laser with shockwave therapy?
If the high-power laser is used prior to shock wave therapy, the area being treated becomes insensitive to pain for a certain period of time. After the Guided DolorClast® Therapy (GDT) A combination therapy of laser therapy and radial or focused shock wave therapy is particularly effective. The combined treatment reduces existing inflammation and desensitizes the area being treated. This allows the subsequent shock wave treatment to be performed more effectively—especially for patients who are sensitive to pain. That is why the DolorClast® High Power Laser is an important component of Guided DolorClast® therapy.
A current Study As demonstrated by Prof. Christoph Schmitz, M.D., of LMU, University of Munich, Germany: Inducing an analgesic effect through pretreatment with a high-power 905-nm laser can enhance the effectiveness of extracorporeal shock wave therapy.
The DolorClast® High-Performance Laser possesses the perfect wavelength of 905 nm (nanometers) for anti-inflammatory effects and pain relief. It is ten times stronger than conventional low-level lasers. The short pulse duration prevents the tissue from heating up and guarantees safe treatment. The „therapeutic window“ is based on wavelengths between 650 nm and 1350 nm. This is precisely the infrared spectrum where wavelengths penetrate deeply into the tissue. This range is less absorbed by water (edema – edema is often characteristic of inflammation), blood, and melanin. This allows biological mechanisms to be triggered more quickly. A wavelength of 905 nm stands for immediate pain relief, rapid tissue regeneration, and long-term reduction of acute inflammation.
The 905 nm wavelength switches off nociceptors—sensory neurons that react to negative stimuli—after just three minutes of irradiation. This allows the DolorClast® high-power laser to provide a rapid analgesic effect, completely without painkillers. Acute inflammation subsides after just the first laser treatment: the laser treatment reduces the amount of prostaglandin E2, an important marker for inflammatory diseases. In doing so, the laser mimics the effect of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs).
Guided DolorClast Therapy – the perfect waves for pain-free, daily activities
The Guided DolorClast® Therapy (GDT) is a new, holistic EMS® concept for doctors and physiotherapists for pain therapy in musculoskeletal disorders. The DolorClast® High-Power Laser von MTR is an essential component of this holistic treatment concept, which encompasses many different pathologies. Most of them are associated with severe pain. Pain limits daily activities and reduces the quality of life and psychological well-being of patients. Pain causes stress and sleepless nights. Thus, it prolongs every healing process. Pain management therefore always has a positive effect on the overall success of the therapy.

In the holistic Guided DolorClast® Therapy It's all about eliminating this pain. The method is based on six steps, which include laser therapy and shock wave therapy. GTD covers 90 % of all major musculoskeletal disorders.
Good reasons for a GDT:
- holistic treatment approach
- unique high-performance laser for pain relief and reduction of inflammation
- Radial Shock Wave Therapy (RSWT) with patented constant energy flux density.
- precise focused shock wave therapy (FSWT) with a penetration depth of up to 80 mm
- App-supported therapy inputs and treatment instructions
- leading in evidence
- Swiss quality product
